Does the Comment Pirater Unocket Your Phone?

The Comment Pirater is a small, hand-held, fully-functional, USB device that allows you to record your own phone calls. You simply plug it into the USB port of your laptop or PC and then begin recording the call as you speak. That’s right, you can record an incoming call, then edit out what you don’t want to say, and then delete seconds or minutes of the call if you wish. It’s simple to use and effective, but does it work on the UNPLUGGED phone models? Not so fast…

The truth is that it will work with all UNPLUGGED phones, but that doesn’t mean it’s going to be effective on yours. First of all, the manufacturers of these little devices have allowed access to the programming from a number of third-party companies, and there are tons of these companies out there. The chances are good that any product released by one of these companies will be compatible with most of the models of UNPLUGGED phones, but the locking of the phone itself prevents this.

The result is that the only way to truly have full functionality is to rip out the plastic and open up the SIM card. This is not as difficult as it sounds, however, and it’s surprisingly simple to remove the SIM card. All you have to do is unscrew the two screws on the back of the phone, then pull it out and discard it. You can even connect your IMEI number to make sure you get the right file before deleting it.
